VO2max Calculator
Estimate your VO2max (maximal oxygen uptake) from age, gender, and exercise data.
About this calculator
VO2max is the maximum rate at which your body can consume oxygen during intense exercise and is a common indicator of cardiorespiratory fitness. This tool estimates VO2max using several well-known field formulas: Cooper 12-minute test ((distance in meters − 504.9) / 44.73), 1.5-mile run test (3.5 + 483 / time in minutes), and the Uth–Sørensen heart-rate method (15.3 × HRmax / HRrest). These are estimates and can vary based on conditions and measurement accuracy. For medical or training decisions, consult a professional.
Notes
- For the Cooper test, enter the total distance covered in 12 minutes.
- For the 1.5-mile test, enter the time it took to complete 1.5 miles.
- For the heart-rate method, you can use an age-based estimate for HRmax (220 − age) or enter a measured HRmax.
