About this calculator

This calculator estimates the initial margin required to open a position. You can either provide leverage (e.g. 10x) and it will compute margin = (price × quantity) / leverage, or supply a margin percentage and it will compute margin = price × quantity × (margin% / 100). Always confirm with your broker/exchange for exact margin rules.
