About this calculator
- This tool estimates Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) using the Widmark formula.
- A standard drink is about 14 g of pure alcohol (in the US). Typical examples: 355 ml (12 oz) beer at 5% ABV, 150 ml (5 oz) wine at 12% ABV, or 45 ml (1.5 oz) spirits at 40% ABV.
- Many factors (metabolism, food intake, medication, health conditions) affect BAC. Results are estimates only.
- Formula: BAC β grams / (r Γ weight_kg Γ 10) β 0.015 Γ hours; r β 0.68 (male), 0.55 (female).
- Alcohol density is assumed to be 0.789 g/ml; standard drink β 14 g.
